Aging...not a bad word...not a bad thing

Aging...every now and then, I go there. Senior citizens abound right now, and one doesn't need to carry a membership card or pay dues, to prove that one belongs. We're, fairly often, recognizable...even with fillers, facelifts, and/or great genetics. Sunglasses that hide half of one's face, and a little bit longer hair can help disguise, but a "disguise" doesn't change what is.

Approaching aging...other than encountering a circumstance beyond our control, we do have control in our approach.  Denial...hmmm...depends, I guess. Kidding ourselvesand trying to kid others...only goes so far. Ignoring...that's okay...actually, that's great, IMO. Acceptance...often difficult.

Easier said than done, right? It's different for everyone. Some settle in beautifully. I love rocking chairs, but I love long walks more. I still love the music I grew up with...the music I grew old with. It's not easy to say that I'm old, but I am. Numbers tell the truth. Maybe we should revel in that? Time stops for no one, and inside, we're who we've been all along. A different look doesn't change that. And so it goes.
