Aging...not a bad word...not a bad thing

Aging...every now and then, I go there. Senior citizens abound right now, and one doesn't need to carry a membership card or pay dues, to prove that one belongs. We're, fairly often, recognizable...even with fillers, facelifts, and/or great genetics. Sunglasses that hide half of one's face, and a little bit longer hair can help disguise, but a "disguise" doesn't change what is.

Approaching aging...other than encountering a circumstance beyond our control, we do have control in our approach.  Denial...fine, but kidding ourselvesand trying to kid others, only goes so far. Ignoring...that's okay...actually, that's great, IMO.

Easier said than done, right? It's different for everyone. Some settle in beautifully. I love rocking chairs, but I love long walks more. I still love the music I grew up with...the music I grew old with. It's not easy to say that I'm old, but I am. Numbers tell the truth. Maybe we should revel in that? Time stops for no one, and inside, we're who we've been all along. A different look doesn't change that. And so it goes.
