The Pergola

We were at our daughter's cottage this week-end, and I find myself always taking a photo of the pergola. It sits...beautifully and elegantly, at the back corner of their yard. It's purpose? To sit there, season after season, and make one wish, that it sat in the corner of their yard.

This pergola always reminds me, that I have so much reading to catch up on. I mean...a perfect spot to catch up, right? A tall glass of iced tea, or a Diet Coke over ice, and whichever book you choose from your stack of "Yet to read." My stack grows, each time I visit Barnes and Noble, or our locally owned, more charming than your (I'm sure) locally owned bookstore, downtown. ðŸ˜Š

I remember going to the library as a child, and checking out the maximum number of books one could check out, at one time. I believe the number was eight. I'd go outside, sit in the shade, and start my stack. Inside was air-conditioned, but there's just something about reading outdoors....you know?
